Now accepting PAYPAL

Over 30 hours on and the HSBC Secure Epayments Gateway is still down.

Since Friday 28th March 11:30 onwards we have been experiencing TECHNICAL PROBLEMS with our payment provider HSBC. This is not a fault at our end, it is a fault with the HSBC Secure epayments server. They have assured us that the problem will be resolved asap.

However the good news is that we have just set it up so that CUSTOMERS CAN NOW PAY via PAYPAL as an alternative directly from the COCONUT HUT Checkout!!!!

Go to the checkout as usual but this time when it asks you to chose a payment method select PAYPAL from the drop down list not HSBC.

Technical problems Friday 28th march 2008. Aaarrghhhhhh!

NEWS FLASH for COCONUT HUT customers wondering why they cannot pay TODAY!

Well... Today Friday 28th March 2008 since 11:30 AM our PSP (Payment Service Provider), HSBC Secure e-payments system has been out of action.

This is nothing to do with us and there really is nothing we can do about it. They are having technical problems with their system and their server is currently down while they try to resolve it.

We have been inundated with customers calling to ask us what is going on and..... we have in turn been inundating HSBC epayments department with calls to ask them...... 'What the hell is going on?!!'. So rest assured, we have been forwarding on your messages to the relevant peoples!

Hopefully the problem will be resolved soon and paying for your Coconut Hut goods will once again be possible within a flash. They have told us it could even be later on this evening, but it may run into Saturday. This is very very very annoying for us too as we can't take any MONEY!! let alone begin the happy process of sending out your GROOVY orders!

In the mean time, if you urgently require something and are desperately running around in a frantic mess banging your head against the wall (as we have taken to doing on a few occassions) trying to place your order then email us via our contact page http://www.coconut-hut.co.uk/acatalog/contact.html and ask about how to go about paying via Paypal. You will need a Paypal account to send a paypal payment.

Once again we are very sorry about this technical hitch and hope that you still love COCONUT HUT! WE LOVE YOU GROOVY FUNKADELIC PEOPLE

Trading 24 hours per day 7 days a week 365 days per year?

Well... in theory it should be! But the trials and tribulations of running an online shop are rarely as simple as this. Outsiders to the game would be seriously mistaken if they thought it was as easy as this.

The obvious advantages of having an online shop might be described broadly as: Customers can shop anytime at their convenience and generaly speaking the overheads of running an online shop 'can' be less than a conventional shop. However, the problems lie in other areas!! And these problems are plentiful.

It is the weekend and for technical reasons Coconut Hut Boutique is offline. Why? I don't know. I am a creative web designer - approaching the site from an artistic point of view. Fantastic images, great editing, wonderful products, promotion and online marketing figure much higher in the general importance of things than the technical side..... So when faced with a technical problem over the weekend, things are literaly f***ed. Technical support from most software specialists is only available during office hours! This means that we cannot resolve anything until Monday (Thank you by the way to those who offer weekend and evening support you are stars). During which time - the shop is closed. Ferme. And we can say Good Bye to any sales this weekend. Adios to the Cash.

This is the equivalent to a high street shop having its doors locked on a saturday morning. Disastrous. The weekends are busy times for internet shops as most customers are not working and are free to surf and buy at their leisure.. Unless of course the website they are trying to access is having technical problems!!!

If you are trying to purchase from http://www.coconut-hut.co.uk/ this weekend and have been unsuccessful then please try again tomorrow!! We love our groovy customers and are very sorry for the technical problems happening today.
